The Job
Jesus speaks of our mission on earth. There is striking contrast in everything we are used to. We are here to heal the sick, make the blind see. Love the unloveable, touch the untouchable. Because to whom much is given much is expected. The instructions are simple, Travel light, focus on your needs and shed everything else. Think about our mission as a life long camping trip. Let us not get comfortable in our air conditioned homes and sun protected skins. Jesus says to keep focused on the walk. Nothing else matters. Be polite, never make a scene in the name of the mission.
39 If your first concern is to look after yourself, you’ll never find yourself. But if you forget about yourself and look to me, you’ll find both yourself and me.
Christianity is not a comfortable religion. Its the opposite. Its about constantly being ripped out of comfort zones. The time to be comfortable is in eternity, not on earth. Let us not sit around like there is not a pending mission at hand. This mission is the only thing God is going to ask about on the day of judgement. You may disagree with family and friends in your passion for the Kingdom but its important never to grow weary. God, the reader of hearts sees all and knows all.
