Epedimic Deceit
I find this verse to be uncomfortably true. Especially (and unfortunately) within the Body of Christ, I have noticed widespread blatantly deceptive behavior. We complain to our close friends, and put up fronts around those we're less comfortable with. We pretend to be friendly. We hide our own struggles. In some cases, we actually lie to wiggle our way out of commitments or uncomfortable situations.
It may be that this deception is merely a symptom of a deeper core issue, but nevertheless, this deceptive behavior has become all to commonplace. And Psalm 12:2 reveals that this is not a new problem.
