-As the people of Jerusalem were going through the process of rebuilding their city and establishing some values, they decided that generosity is something that would be of utmost importance to them.
-Can you imagine how exciting it could be to start all over from scratch and decide that generosity will matter? I often wonder how many people who have been so devastatingly affected by our current economy have considered that? Notice that this passage doesn't talk about bringing money. It talks about giving out of what they had. So many people miss out on the opportunity to give because they don't think they can afford it. We are so privilege to live in a country where most of us have all of what we need, most of want we want, and a lot of what we don't want!
-As a leader, I believe it is critical to cultivate a culture of generosity right out of the gates. If you say that you will get back to it later, I am pretty certain you never will and you will miss that opportunity to be a part of God's blessing.
