The Good Shepherd

I have been such a whining, crybaby lamb the past month. It's a good thing the Lord is my shepherd. He makes me lie down when my heart is racing with anxiety. He leads me to a safe, quiet place where I can gulp down fear-quenching draughts of Living Water. He guides me to seek godly counsel, to lean on Him and not on my own understanding. All of this He does to bring glory to His name. I fear no evil, for I trust in the protection of His rod to fend off those who would do me harm, and in His staff to pull me back in line when I threaten to do harm to myself and others. He blesses me in the very presence of my enemies; He anoints me. He has given me everything I need, yet He keeps filling me up. Every day He shows me how good are His ways, how great is His love for such and undeserving wretch like me. He has prepared a place for me, a room of my own in His Father's mansion, and I am invited to spend eternity with Them there. Truly amazing.
