Wake up call
Again Jesus is teaching us to hold our brothers and sisters accountable. He is not talking about bringing judgement down on them, that is not our job. Judging the sins of others is the job of God and no one of us. But we are responsible for confronting and helping them when we see them struggling through temptation or sin. James talks about this also later in the NT, and it's a beautiful thing. We need brothers who are not judgmental, but who are definitely not afraid to step up and give us a wake up call when we are on the verge of sin or in the middle of it. I thank God for the brothers he's given me in keeping me accountable not only to my temptations and sins, but also to the faith itself that God has put inside me. Praise Jesus!
