"only 2 things are certain in life, death and taxes"...and a lot of griping people (I vote we add that last part to the cliche)

Does anyone else dread the conversation with certain people about taxes? You know, the people that make more money, that are in the higher tax bracket blah blah. Well My husband is the best and usually ends these conversations with I'm ready to be in that higher tax bracket, Jesus said Give to ceasar what is ceasars, who cares its just money." well, in reading Exodus, i can see why this makes so many people mad, it IS wrong, i mean i knew that, but i just chalked it up to quit complaining about making more money. God set up taxes, and people perverted the concept (like many other God principles) God wanted everybody to pay a tax when Moses was counting people once a year, so that maintenance could be done on the "meeting tent" But God said that the tax is the same for everybody, the rich should not pay more and the poor should not pay less. So i guess next time i'm I'm listening to someone gripe about paying more taxes, it will be an opportunity to show someone a little bit about God and how paying more probably isn't right. At the same time, we can't forget the good in why we pay taxes, or the fact that God is our source and not where we get or who we give our money to. Yep it sucks, but just like the Isrealites paying a tax, how else would the "meeting tent" get taken care of? We have to remember the good in the bad and look for every opportunity to share Jesus with people.
