How To Overcome Fear & Be Made Perfect In Love

Every day we are faced with the challenges of speaking about the business, sharing the vision, and sharing gods love. Many of the time we find ourselves filled with the fear of what others may have to say.
Fear is a very common issue us christians have in spreading the word of god. God calls us to do just that, spread the word, and bring others to a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. So how do we overcome these fears, how do we stop dreading peoples responses?

1 John 4:18 sais:

"There is no fear in love. But perfect love as Jesus talks about in Matthew 5:43-48 drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment."

I goes on to discuss how "The one who fears is not made perfect in love"

Well there is the answer to where the fear comes from. We are not made perfect in love!. So how do we become perfect in love. Lets turn to Matthe 5:43-58 (Love)

There are several things Jesus talks about that are requirements to being perfect in love.
1. Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.

Note: We as sinners get caught up in this. When someone does wrong to you, or shows resentment, or hate for you our natural reaction to sinners is to turn away from that person, to ignore that person, and to feel anger or hate in return. Our natural reaction is to feel judged and retaliate our feelings on that person. Jesus on the other hand tells us to LOVE our enemies and PRAY for those who persecute you. Without this, our hearts cannot be made perfect in love for if we cannot love as the father in heave commands how can we know what gods love truely is.

2. "That you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous."

Note: This is a key thing to remember. Many of us cannot comprehend this bold statement. In this statement Jesus sais the father in heaven causes the sun to rise on the evil and the good. He tells how the Father in heaven loves all types and manners of men, Evil & Good, Murders & Preachers, etc. The father in heaven loves everyone equally no matter who they are. Jesus calls us to be like the Father in heaven and be made perfect in love, so with this we as his children need to learn how to look on all things with Love in our heart no matter what type of manner of men or women they may be.

3. Jesus Sais "If you love only those who love you, what reward will you get?" Simple there is no true reward until you learn to love everyone and everything regardless of circumstance.

Note: God calls on us to be made perfect in love like him, this is something we can learn from our Lord. Love your enemies as well.

4. "If you only great your borhters, what are you doing more than others?"

Note: Often as human beings we do not actively seek relationships with people we do not know. Often we find ourselves only allowing ourselves to put a smile on our face on sunday morning when we are around our brothers in christ. However Jesus said "What are you doing more then others? Do not even pagans do that?" We need to remember that if we desire to be made perfect in love as christ calls us to be, we need to open our hearts so that our love can shine through like a lamp resting on a lampstand for all to see. We need to actively seek to open our hearts, our soul, and our mind to allow our love to bring the light to the world.

The scripture references above are quotes from Jesus on how to be made perfect in love as the father in heaven.

In this Jesus sais "Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly father is perfect"

So there is the answer to overcoming fear. Simply follow what christ calls us to do, learn how to love, and seek to become perfect in love as our heavenly father is perfect in love.

Remember: Just because you make mistakes from time to time doesn't mean you can't ask for forgiveness, draw a line, step over it, and forget the mistakes of the past. Today is a new day, a new chance to embark on new adventures. Those who live in the past are doomed to repeat them, but those who hold their heads to the heavens are blessed to see the way ahead.
