Fear of the Unknown
Abram's journey to Egypt because of the famine in Canaan caused a good bit of concern about their uncertain future. That fear of the unknown caused him to suspect the worst and led him to make choices that were not good. He convinced Sarai to join him in a lie that could have derailed God's plan for his life. All because of his fear of the unknown. When we fear the unknown it can cause us to do strange things - and most of them are not good. So when we fear the unknown, it's better to do nothing than react to our imagination and fears.
