Confess and Find Forgiveness

I love this Psalm because of how true it is and how well it speaks to my life. So many times, I have kept silent about my sin and resisted confessing it to the Lord. At those times, I have felt as if I was wasting away. I felt distant from the Lord and my spirit was groaning. I have felt the Lord's hand upon me, convicting me of my sin, yet in my pride and arrogance I held out. Finally, I gave in and let go, confessing my sin and pleading for forgiveness. And you know what? The Lord was and always is faithful to His promise. He forgives me of my sin and in those moments, I strongly identify with verse 1 and 2. There is no blessing quite like that of being forgiven and knowing that the Lord is not holding my sin against me. In those moments, there is no deceit in my spirit and I am right with God. Oh to stay in that place forever. It's possible, but it requires continually and immediate confessing of sin. Don't overlook verse 6: "Therefore, let everyone who is godly pray to You in a time when You may be found." Help me Lord to be diligent in seeking you and praying to You while you may be found.
