Verses for Haiti

Today my reading was Psalm 20, I was reading the NLT version. It spoke loud and clear to me a prayer for Haiti for this time of earthquake devastation. Verse one: "In times of trouble, may the Lord respond to your cry" Later in verse 5: "...may the Lord answer all your prayers."

But the verse that stood out to me as being so profound is toward the end, verse 8 "Those nations will fall down and collapse (nations who boast in their armies), but we (Haiti) will rise up and stand firm. Give victory to our Kind O Lord, Respond to our cry for help."

Verse eight jumped out at me because for centuries Haiti has had nothing to boast of, their only hope and help is from God...therefore I believe that they WILL "rise up and stand firm"...though they have fallen and literally collapsed, I believe they will rise again, and that GOD will respond to their cry for help.

I have seen several TV programs that say how the Haitian people are singing in the streets "Amazing Grace" and other hymns, in the midst of the devastation, what a beautiful people to be lifting up their praise amongst such hardship.

Oh Lord, please hear their cry and answer all their prayers.
