Gentiles and the Genealogy of Jesus
Something to note in looking at the genealogy of Jesus is that there at least 2 Gentiles mentioned in it, within only a generation of each other.
Rahab (a former prostitute) was Boaz's mother and had been saved in Jericho because of her protection of the spies. She had to have been kind of old by this time, but the verses indicate she was in the lineage of Jesus. God's providence also provides that Ruth be in the lineage as well, A Moabite. God is seeking to have people from all nations be saved. He has provided other nations to be a part of the lineage of Jesus. Glory to God for his providence.
