Noah and I, part II

There is always hope. The same hand that brings a flood calms the storm. He is equally skilled.
Gradually the flood waters ceased. Transformation takes time. I know that as much as I desire affliction to cease immediately after I've learned what it was meant to teach, in order for that transformation to be permanent, it must fade slowly. I forget too easily, but God remembers. When I'm removed from trial without a time of processing, the most I feel looking back is relief and nostalgia lacking gratitude and understanding.
The gospel is everywhere in the Bible. A subtle subtext flows from story to story. Wickedness, redemption, transformation, and reconciliation whisper through these words. The ark rests upon a mountain... Christ is our rock. The ark was Noah's act of faith. Called to carry his family, his faith was never just about him. It had ramifications on the whole world. The gospel is surely about us and our personal relationship with God, but the gospel in full is just as much about our relationship with others.
First Noah built an alter to worship God, then he built a home for his family. Noah learned the gospel and lived it. It's true that we are born into a world of sin, and are by nature sinful. However, God loves us enough to change us. God choses to redeem rather than destroy.
