We saw this guy OD on heroin...

The other day, we were getting a burger at In-N-Out. When we pulled up, we saw a guy in a total daze, and checking out quickly. He was with a friend and by the time we parked his buddy had him laid out on the tailgate of his truck. A woman who was a nurse came out of the restaurant and was helping out, while a couple of other people were on the phone to 911. The Paramedics showed up soon after, and they had the guy on a gurney and headed toward the back of their ambulance; as they pushed the gurney we saw the mans arm slide limply off the cart and dangle there; definitely unconscious, almost lifeless.
We spoke with the nurse who had come out to help; she told us that the young man had recently gotten out of rehab, and had just OD'd on heroin.
What did we do? we went to see if there was anything we could help with; it was apparent the man was getting first-aid and people were calling 911. His friend was scared and worried, he was the person on the phone.
What did we do? I know we both said silent prayers for the situation.
What did we do? What does this proverb say to me in this situation, why do I feel convicted by these particular verses?
The Bible tells us to be instant in prayer (Romans 12:12), it also tells us that we are commanded to take the Gospel to all the world (Matthew 28:19-20.)
Did we go to his friend and ask if we could pray for him? No.
Did we pray over and for the guy OD-ing? No.
Could we in this situation have had an opportunity to witness and comfort his friend, maybe even lead him to CHRIST? We will never know because we didn't. Did we take our faith out of the bag and use it as JESUS has asked us to? Are we meeting the commands of our Savior right here where the rubber meets the road?
I'm looking at my failing and praying on a change I need to make; there are so many lost people, so much we can and must do; even on our way for a burger and fries!
FATHER help me to be faithful and use what you have given me in YOUR grace and mercy, to give hope to a dying world; especially when they are dying in front of me. YOU leave me no excuses.
