Not Just Equality, Generosity At My Discretion

I think personally that a lot of people don't grasp what Jesus and in effect God is trying to do in the area of equality.

1 Samuel 8:7-8 shows that God didn't want His believers to have a king like every other nation, but they persisted, they lobbied, and they got what they wanted eventually. Samuel, understood, but the people did not, and I personally think it's because people always want someone else to do something for them. People don't like responsibility and work, people especially in these times typically just want to work when it's "play".

So the people wanted a king and look at the first two examples, the first being mans choice Saul who either just couldn't obey or basically seemed like he wanted to get over or "one up" God and lie about it. Then if I remember correctly he got all bitter like Cain with Abel and this fool chased David all over the place as if he didn't have a kingdom to run.

Then we have David who (smh) went from being bold and fearless slaying Goliath, to a man running from David because he didn't feel like he should touch God's so-called anointed. If I remember correctly the bible also says he had a heart towards God like none other, but this is the same Dude that had a harem of women and still went after a chick bathing butt-naked on her rooftop in plain sight of the palace and had her husband put on the front-lines of battle (orchestrating his death). This is the same dude who couldn't even COMMAND the building of God's temple, not that he had to lay a finger on the temple, he couldn't even COMMAND the temple building process. So if he wasn't bad enough, his kids were worse and he overlooked it, letting his son get away with coercing and raping his daughter.

YEAH! [sarcastically] GREAT EXAMPLES OF KINGS/MEN OF GOD.

Now I don't know if Deuteronomy came before or after 1 Samuel but Deuteronomy 17:20 specifically says a king should "not think that he's better than everyone else", and if a king should not how much more a common man? 1 Corinthians 12:12 says we are all part of one body, that doesn't mean the head is more important or exempt from anything. So it doesn't matter if you're a slave, a free man, a king, a president, a pastor, a prophet, or bishop, you are not special. Don't be mad like Jonah because as Matthew 20:14-15 says God is going to be generous and he has the right to do what he wants with what he made.

God gives us opportunities to be closer to him and to do more for him but like Exodus 19:10-13 prove, God has requirements and sometimes like the Israelites either we don't want to meet the requirements or people accidentally (or purposely misinform us) like Moses in verse 23 of the same chapter.

John 13:1-17 also is a poignant example that no one is better than anyone else. I DON'T BELIEVE Jesus wasn't saying that there should be a master and a slave I BELIEVE Jesus was saying even though there are these titles and positions that they still don't matter! Get over your self, and get over these titles and positions. I don't hold any man as higher than myself, including pastors, bishops, and presidents
