Realizations
4 Remove the dross from the silver,
and out comes material for the silversmith;
5 remove the wicked from the king's presence,
and his throne will be established through righteousness.
Some interesting things have happened in my faith recently. Heart-breaking, pain-stricken things. These things have brought disappointment and resentment. Through that pain and disappointment brought realizations that are hard to hear and not easy to accept.
I continue to dwell on the pain it has caused me and those I love dearly. How can things like this happen to people so deserving of love? These people are gracious, beautiful and spirited people who love You and what Your kingdom has brought to us. How can things like this happen? The pain was in Your name, but how can that be when you don't want us to feel pain? It is unwarranted.
The wickedness prevailed and we surrendered to it. But not anymore. I, along with them, need to move on. We need to forget the pain, accept the reality, and see Your righteousness. You are here with us because You know the purity in our actions, You know the love we have for one another, and at the end of the day that is all that matters. Once that wickedness is forgotten and we accept the pain as growth, can we really see You.
