babel and urbanization

consider this story not in the context of your sunday school felt board, but instead look at it anew, and consider the judgment and how it related to their activities -- was it the tower itself or the urbanization and self-sufficiency and self-containment and making a name for themselves from their own capabilities rather than God's provision that God was judging?
