When We Are Humble, He is Willing.
This threw me back. How often do I just TRUST the Lord? How often to I humble myself to his will? How often would I just say, "If you are willing."? Did Christ not say, "Ask and you shall receive." ?
The wisdom and faith of this man astound me! He not only had the wisdom to know he could do much more than heal him, but make him CLEAN. Wow. And how humbly he asks, "If you are willing..." Does every prayer we send to Heaven begin with "Lord, if you are willing..."?
But even after this amazing display of faith, the man is blatantly disobedient. He did not heed Jesus' words to keep it to himself. Many times I find myself trusting in the Lord, but not following through all the way. Or, the Lord has done great things for me... but I doubt him the very next day. Another example of this faith and then failure was Peter and walking on the water -- while he was faithful in stepping out he doubted Jesus while he was WALKING ON WATER. I mean... he's literally walking on water, and then he doubts him. Wow. So did this man, he was literally JUST healed by Jesus and then didn't trust in His reasoning to not go and blab about what just happened. He had just humbled himself to be healed, but refused to humble himself after.
We must be humble in EVERYTHING we do. We must trust in Him daily, hourly, and each minute of our lives.
