Will of the Father
I suppose that one must first ask them self, "What is the will of the Father"? To do the will of the Father,to me, means loving God, and loving his people. Who are his people, every single person here on earth! Yes, this means the ones that you like, love and the "not so much". We must remember that all men are created "in his image", thus not to love one another, as he commanded, means not to love him.
I think what he means by " Not everyone who says to me 'Lord, Lord' "...... is those that only call upon him when things get rough. Those that live in the world, but ask for his help when they are stuck in the mud. God does not want us to be "Sunday Christians" - meaning that we are Christians only on Sundays, but act like the world Monday- Friday. The Lord says that we must choose. Are we going to walk according to his word, or as the world. We can not have one foot in and one foot out. This absolutely frustrates me. I hate to see my brothers and sisters acting like a bunch of fools in the world - especially when they know the truth. The word says that when we know the truth, that it will set us free. But God can not do his work in us if we do not give him room to do so. This means that we must get rid of some of the junk that we are attached to.
Lord, help me to love you with all of my being. Help me to honor you with my words, my actions and my thoughts. Help me to know what your will is for my life, and help me to listen to the Holy Spirit, who you have left to be my guide. I love you, Lord and I surrender my life to you. Do with me as you will.
Amen.
