Thirsty???
29 A jar of sour wine was sitting there, so they soaked a sponge in it, put it on a hyssop branch, and held it up to his lips.
So Jesus is on the cross and he is almost dead. But to fulfill the prophecy he was given a sponge filled with vinegar.
This is something I normally missed until a friend and me had a conversation about it. I know that after running 3 miles I am extremely thirsty Jesus had been scourged and had been hanging on a cross for a long time. I can’t imagine how thirsty he was. When he asked for something to relive his thirst he was given vinegar. Vinegar would just burn and make things worse. He did it all for me wow!!!
Lord help me never to forget what you did for me.
