Merciful God
Oh how merciful is our Lord! An act of faith by one small Levite woman lead to her being allowed to nurse her own beloved baby, against all odds. How her heart must have soared not only to realize that he would not die, but would live a life of privilege, and that she would be privy to the child until he was weened.
The Lord did not need to use the birth mother, but he did. What a glorious gift he gave to her, allowing her to remain with her precious child, even if only for a time.
Thank you God for your tender mercies. Thank you for understanding our human longings, and for caring for even the least of us in the way that you do.
