The Tough Issues: Death Penalty

Yes, the Bible condones the death penalty. But it goes a lot farther than our culture. Some of these are a little harsh. But I wonder how different our society would be if these rules were in place, especially those concerning how we treat our parents. Here are the offences listed in these verses which called for the death penalty.

1. Premeditated Murder (Notice only for those who planned to murder)
2. Hitting your mother or father (Parental abuse is a growing epidemic)
3. Stealing a person for personal use or sale (So many missing children today)
4. Cursing your mother or father (A common practice for younger and younger children)
