A Thought on Generations

In verse 15, God tells Abram that his people will be enslaved for 400 years. Then, in this verse, he tells Abram that after four generations, his people will be freed. Is that to mean that a generation, in God's eyes, is 100 years? If so, that could answer many questions I've always had about time in the Bible.
