Finish Strong
4 They were both running, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first.5 He stooped and looked in and saw the linen wrappings lying there, but he didn't go in.6 Then Simon Peter arrived and went inside.
So this verse is taking place after Jesus has died. Mary goes to the tomb and finds it open. She runs and tells peter and the John. Peter and john run to the tomb to see what has happened.
Well this verse kind of surprised me because it speaks to me of the Christian race. We run for Jesus like Peter and John but do we finish strong like peter or do we stop before the finish line like John? Peter was slower but he ran all the way and didn’t stop. John was faster but stopped short of the goal. How many times do I stop short of the goal in my everyday walk with Christ? It doesn’t matter if I am the fastest or the slowest as long as I give it my all and finish strong.
Lord help me to run my race with endurance so that I may reach the Goal and finish Strong.
