Intro Day 1
I am looking forward to you joining the conversation around the book of Acts. This morning I was struck by how often I've overlooked chapter one and focused on the Day of Pentecost in chapter two. What jumped out at me in chapter one was the worldwide spread of the good news that Jesus had in mind. Some of Jesus followers are still in the mindset of Israel's political restoration and want to know when that will happen (v.6). But Jesus told them his power would send them to 'the ends of the earth.'
John Wesley once said, 'the world is my parish'. Our work and ministry is not contained, nor should it be, within the walls of the church. The world is our parish ... I hope we can continue to join God beyond the walls of Broadway and that what we do within the walls of the church will prepare us for such a vision.
