Faith

20 "What glory is it, if, when ye sin, and are buffeted for it, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye shall take it patiently, this is acceptable with God. 21 For hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, that ye should follow his steps:22 who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth."

I have sinned and been protected patiently against it yet have also done well and suffered for it; yet not without verbal hostility. This verse offers a model on how to deal with suffering in the face of doing good - one must be patient and not let their hostility show/be known or their goodness will be overturned. If only one person/Entity should know what goodness you have done - who better than our Lord!
