edified thru peace, @blake_levrets

There were a couple verses that stuck out to me today but I really landed on this one: Acts 9:31 — Then the churches throughout all Judea, Galilee, and Samaria had peace and were edified. And walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, they were multiplied.

I italicized a few words here for emphasis. This was just really cool.

They had peace — you can also say rest here. This is after Paul’s conversion and the Church experienced something for the first time: peace. They didn’t have to constantly look over their shoulders at this point (they will again, very soon). But for this moment they get rest.

Edified — Even though they had peace God was still working in their lives. He was refining them and preparing them for the next season during this one.

walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit – They knew the Lord and his power but they continued to walk because of the comfort the Holy spirit had provided.

The application is this: no matter what season of life you are going through, whether peace or persecution, God still wants you to walk in fear and comfort and allow God to refine you, to edify you, to prepare you for the next season.
