An Inheritance to Rival them All
Here in Romans 4 Paul is writing in regards to Abraham and the things that he did or didn't have to do to receive the inheritance. It all comes together in verse 18. Abraham was the father of many nations. This can be interpreted as actual or in another way as spiritual. Abraham's faith was credited to him as righteousness. And what was the credit? The salvation of BILLIONS. Through the act of this sole nomad, we have what God intended. Abraham's life has shown time after time the unlimited faith of one man that went against the grain because of what he believed and who he believed in. God called Abraham friend. If anything, that blows all of what he will receive away. Let us not look to what we can get from God but rather what we can give to God. A selfless faith rooted not in our works, but rather in our love for God and in our obedience for what He would require of us. If a hundred year old mand can do it and then have a son, I think that we can to. How much more can we inherit?
