We have a retired pastor who attends our church and is one of the wisest people I have ever met. Recently during a planning meeting for the coming year he brought up this scripture. We had several things on the meeting agenda such as weekly vs. monthly bulletins, budget figures, empty leadership roles, our new soup kitchen, etc., but they all boiled down to this common message. So coming out of the meeting our goal over the next few weeks is to visit with our church members and ask them to commit to finding their gifts thru prayer and participation over the next few months. This is a great idea and I look forward to discovering hidden talents and gifts with the people of our church. We have many passionate people and lots of very active people and there are more things that can be done by our church in our community. I look forward to sitting down and discussing with people what they believe the Lord is calling them to do as part of the body of Christ. What is your God given talent and how can you use that talent to share in the grace of Jesus Christ thru the work of the church? I pray that God whisper thru the storms and chaos of life to give you your sense of purpose so that love and peace can be shared between all people.
