Backwards
I read this and think of its application in todays marketplace.
These guys are given a small fortune and as a result of the "gift" from God they leave it all behind. This is amazing to me when we look at it through the eyes of a 21st century American. It seems as though we all ask for are these miracles of provision and seem satisfied enough with an enlarged bank account. Yet these men see the miracle and are only satisfied by following Jesus' invitation to become fishers of men.
I pray that God would guard my heart in such a way that I may see a sign as a sign and not a gift. So that when He invites me into that perfect destiny I may respond whole heartedly.
