Family Tree

The third chapter of Acts brings all of God's people together. In verse 25, Peter says, "These prophets, along with the covenant God made with your ancestors, are your family tree." A few weeks ago, I spent 4 days in New Jersey with my Uncle and his children and grandchildren. I had not seen them in over 18 years, but the minute I walked in the door, I was family. No amount of distance or time had removed me from them, or them from me.

That is, what I think, Peter is saying to us all in the last 2 verses of this chapter. Starting with Abraham and coming to the present, we are part of the family of God because of the sacrifice the Jesus made. No amount of time can remove us as children of God, from that family tree.
