To speak or not to speak

You know, so often today, it is becoming common practice for companies to tell their employees they cannot talk about their Christian faith. They threaten us with being fired, written up, etc.... And so we give in to their demands. I heard a story recently about a home health nurse, who told some Christian friends of mine that she wasn't supposed to pray with her patients. And yet, according to Acts 5:29, Peter tells the high priest in Jerusalem that when it comes to sharing our faith and belief in God, it is better to obey God than it is to obey man. Peter and the Apostles had been thrown in jail because they were teaching about Jesus and the Pharisees wanted them stopped. But God stepped in on their behalf and released them from jail. Then God told them to go back out and preach, in the same places they were arrested before. Lo and behold they were arrested again and the Jewish leaders even wanted to kill them, but by God's hand they were spared.

Our responsibility is to obey God and not man when it comes to sharing our faith. I know it is hard to think about losing our jobs, especially when it comes to the economy we are in today. But if we obey God doesn't God promise to care for us and meet our needs? Didn't God give us the jobs we currently have right now? Then it would only stand to reason that if we lose our jobs due to obeying God, that God would provide us a different job.
