Missed Opportunities
I love this passage; "Peter saw his opportunity and addressed the crowd"
Peter, being so full of the Holy Spirit, was tuned in to his surroundings. He knew instinctively that he had the opportunity to witness for Christ and, as mentioned in verse 6, Peter knew what God could do through him.
We might feel intimidated by Peter's eloquence thinking we could never address a crowd of people and proclaim the Word of the Lord, however we have that same power don't we? What Peter did was share the story of Jesus Christ starting with the prophets all the way up through the death and resurrection of Jesus. Then he used the example of the healing of the lame man, the example of faith and action.
So what is my problem? Am I so busy that I am not tuned into God's Spirit? Am I missing the opportunities to witness? Have I let my "Faith" story slide to the background?
I think I need to read this chapter again and again. I think it may have been written for me .... for today.
