War Over Water

Theme: War Over The Wells

Introduction:
• There is warfare over the wells: Why?
• The key to a fruitful life and walking in a broad place of blessing is tied to the well – Gen. 26: 22
• The Philistines want to stop up your wells!
• The true test of ministry in the last days is “Who has the water?”
• 1 Kings 18 – Story of Elijah and the drought. Ahab is sending out his servant to find any water so they can gather grass for their starving animals. But Elijah, the prophet, is on Mt. Carmel making rain.
o Too many ministries are just gathering grass to keep their programs alive – but this prophetic generation isn’t interested in a temporary fix, they are rain-makers!

Three Keys to unstopping the wells:
1. Numbers 21: 18 – Leaders have to dig the wells
2. Numbers 21: 17 – Praise releases the well
3. John 7: 37 – The baptism in the Holy Spirit must be released from our well

Why the enemy wants to stop your wells:
1. Whoever has water controls the land
2. Whoever has water gathers people – Numbers 21: 16
3. Whoever has water walks in honor – Isaiah 43: 20
4. Whoever has water has authority over demons – Isaiah 43: 20
5. Whoever has water has divine direction – Isaiah 58: 11
6. Whoever has water has prosperity – Isaiah 58: 11
7. Whoever has water brings restoration – Isaiah 58: 12
8. Whoever has water makes generational impact – Isaiah 58: 12
9. Whoever has water gives spiritual birth – Genesis 1: 2
• The word “moved” – paints picture of hen setting on her eggs until full development has occurred and they are ready to hatch.

Four wells of life – All life comes from Christ:
1. The well of the word of God - …washing of the water by the Word of God (Eph. 5: 26)
2. The well of faith
3. The well of your spirit man – 1 Cor. 2: 8-11
4. The well of supernatural finances – James 5

Three ways the Philistines stop-up the well:

1. They try to poison the wells
2. They try to fill the well with earth – Genesis 26: 15
• The cares of life
• The works of the flesh
3. They surround the well with archers – Judges 5: 11
