Shining Light

Let your light shine before men so they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven. Yet do we really or do we consider that being offensive, or tooting our own horn? We are told in Scripture to shine before men - to live out our faith, not just keep it private. Yet how often do we give God the credit He deserves for the little things in our lives.

I was reminded yesterday of the way some people view Christians -- we all get lumped into one category. Mostly hypocrits. Some religions make a big deal of openly sharing their beliefs, openly praying together and even announcing it from loud speakers. This is not considered offensive, and yet if we say Praise the Lord, we are not being sensitive to other's beliefs.

We do need to be proud of what God does for us, we need to publically praise Him, thank Him in prayer, and proclaim His Good News. No where in scripture does it say to be quiet about our God -- even the rocks will cry out if we don't -- don't be accused of not telling your neighbors about Him. Never be accused of keeping Him to yourself. Shine your Light!
