Favors...
1 “I’ve told you these things to prepare you for rough times ahead.2 They are going to throw you out of the meeting places. There will even come a time when anyone who kills you will think he’s doing God a favor.3 They will do these things because they never really understood the Father."
Hmmmm.... not much has changed in a couple thousand years except for maybe who does the throwing out... Have you ever been the victim of someone doing God a favor? I have. It doesn't feel good. Usually because those types of people actually think they are doing God a favor! To be fair there have been times when I've been that person. Of course, it never worked out the way I thought it should.
Q: Why do we do things like that?
Q: Why do we actually feel like we're doing God a favor by putting our little noses into whatever?
Q: Why can we justify our actions with the thought of doing God a favor?
A: Could it be we misunderstand the Father.
Dear Lord, today is a new day. Thank you for the gift. Thank you for your generosity in my life. Thank you for Jesus. He's your ultimate gift of generosity to a bunch of sin weary, weakened people. Give me strength to embrace Jesus as my source today. Grant me understanding of your heart so that I can love the way you love your Son, Jesus. And thank you Jesus for loving me like you love your Father.
