Do Not Worry

Jesus tells us NOT to worry, not to be anxious about anything. Is that really possible for us? Seems we worry about everything. Do you worry about the things listed here -- what to eat or drink or wear, or something else: job security, a special parking place, your kids and their friends, health for you or a loved one.

Does worrying really help us at all? Does it correct the situation we are concerned about? We are asked can we add a single hour to our life by worrying -- actually no we probably take hours and even days off our lives by worrying. So why do we worry?

Is it really a lack of faith or the realization of lack of control? I know I have a control issue. I like to know what is going to happen and to plan different scenarios to situations so I am prepared for all. But people don't always do what I have planned, things don't always fit into my scenarios. So what really is the issue here? Do I trust the God of the universe with everything in my life -- no matter how great or small? Have I really turned control over to God? Do I really trust Him for all the things in my life? Maybe I don't -- so why not? Totally trusting God for ALL things would be turning control over to Him, each and every day. Let's see -- I mess things up, I fail, I loose control, I panic. God on the other hand Created a perfect earth, knows what is going to happen before it does, knows the total outcome. He is the One who died for me -- so that I can have a relationship with Him. There really is no reason to NOT totally trust God for ALL things in my life.

Start today to turn the day over to Him and then do it again tomorrow, and the next day and the next. We all need to be reminded and maybe even little notes placed in drawers, on bathroom doors or mirrors, in books as your book mark -- turn all situations over to Him and ask Him for the strength and wisdom to make it through the day.
