Trust. one of the most difficult thing to do. On average, we dont trust anyboy except those we have chosen to love; mostly our immediate family and partners. this kind of trust we can control because we choose the experiences and knowledge we share with our loved ones BUT God demands it all....the beautifulm, the ugly and the nitty gritty...God demands all our heart, soul and mind which makes trusting God one of the most difficult things to do. with our families we can always ignore their requests with excuses such as "if you love me, you would trust me to make my own decisions" but when God demands us to sacrifice our heart desires for him, we cant use that excuse because we know that God has the power to give us everything we ever want and desired and that ultimately God knows it all..the future, the past and the beginning...a power that our loved ones do not have. so we are obliged to trust God and give him the control...
This season i believe that is what God is teaching me...How to trust him completely and absolutely...without any back up plans or Plan Bs..a decipline i have never fully completed throughout my christian life and no better time than God's time right? And Now Is The Time....
Reading these verses this morning has enhanced my discipline on Trust and "i know my God who has started a Good work in me shall finish it..):
Genesis 22:5
"He said to his servants, stay here with the donkey while I and the boy go over there. we will worship and then WE WILL COME BACK TO YOU."(its so amazing! God told Abraham to sacrifice Isaac and yet he trusted God to provide another offering and knew God wouldnt let him kill his son...what an incredible hope! )
Genesis 22:10
"Then he reached out his hand and took the knife to kill his son."(Although he trusted God not to let him harm his son, and he assured Isaac that God would provide another offering, he still wanted to carry out God's instructions...what obedience! Sometimes we have to actually carry out God's instructions, or sacrifice what we love the most before we would see God's plan and provision...Ultimately God is testing our heart and see how much we love him and are willing to serve him...to see whether what we say in our prayers and worship songs, that we actually mean what we say....I love God!)
Proverbs 3:5-8(MSG)
"TRUST God from the bottom of your heart; dont try to figure out everyting on your on. Listen for God's voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; HE IS THE ONE who will keep you on track. Dont assume that you know it all. RUN TO GOD! RUN FROM EVIL!"
Psalm 115:9(MSG)
"But you, Israel: put your trust in God! trust your Helper! trust your Ruler!"
To God be the glory.....As far as we live in this world, we would always have doubt or difficulty in trust, but Jesus set such a good example for us in the garden before his death when he prayed:although i am scared right now and i would rather not do this, BUT YOUR WILL BE DONE anyway...in times of trust issues, this is the most powerful prayer.
Luke 22:42
"Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done."
