Supporters just as important as the Leader!

"12 But Moses’ hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat thereon; and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side; And his hands were steady until the going down of the sun."

When I first became a Christian I was nearly in sin because of the way I held the Pastors of our Church up above all others. While these men and women are certainly worthy of the utmost respect, they are not to be worshiped. But while I felt so unworthy they seemed so perfect in every respect.

As I joined the church as operations staff it became quite a struggle for me to understand that they were human just like I was.

This verse helped me to realize that while they were chosen to lead my job was equally important. That without Aaron the orator, and Hur the warrior Moses would not have been able to keep his arms up. What an enlightening and true verse that should speak to us all today.

Jesus says much later that we are all part of the Body - none more important than another.

A picture of Aaron and Hur holding up the arms of Moses hangs in my office today.
