most of the time when we think of God destroying places because of sin, we immediately think of Sodom & Gommorah (S&G).. rarely do we think of the flood during Noah's time. This was a worldwide flood. There had been 1,656 years from Adam to Noah. The earths population was estimated anywhere between 5 to 10 billion people! And out of all of them, Noah was the only righteous one. Oh man! That's quite tough. Wow! Wiping out 5 billion people is not something to be taken lightly!!

Another option for the flood is that it was not a global flood but only perceived as one.

i sometimes struggle with reconciling the God of Old & New Testament. It's like they are two different people. How could the same God who they say would have died for me even if I was the only sinner alive, wipe out 5 billion people? I know the standard answer is the diff roles - Judge vs Saviour. But even in the OT, God created man for relationship & to rule over the earth.

Was man really that bad?
