On Pain
I have to wonder about the issue of pain and the Garden of Eden ... consider this:
He said to the woman:
I will intensify your labor pains;
you will bear children in anguish.
Your desire will be for your husband,
yet he will dominate you.
In every version God tells Eve that He is going to increase the pain she has in childbearing. Now ... that says two things. First ... she's had children! If she had not, she wouldn't know what the heck God was talking about. Second ... what is this pain you speak of? If He meant the pain meter to go from zero to something, He would have said, "I will give you pain in childbearing" but He said, "I will INCReASE" your pain. The implication is that she is already experiencing some pain. Very interesting ...
