First: Let's define the word.
Second: Every single human being is wired to worship.
Third: Jesus Christ alone can restore our relationship with God and bring us into worship with the Father in spirit and truth.
Fourth: Corporate worship is meant for true Christians and must not be aimed at unbelievers.
Fifth: True worship exalts and glorifies God and not us.

Study Questions:
1. Have you ever experienced "blockage" as you try to worship God? Could it be that even as a Christian you are struggling with pride? How might this be remedied?
2. Have you ever thought of Hell as the total deprivation of the soul from the presence of God? Re-read Psalm 42 and consider the "appetite" of the human soul.
3. Does this verse help you to understand the indifference of unsaved people to the things of Christ? Is it wise to grown frustrated with their hardness? Why or why not?
4. What would be the difference between a musician seeing himself as worshipping God by presenting his music as an "offering" … and seeing himself as leading the people into worship? Can there be such a thing as vicarious worship? What kind of worship is found in the Palms? Engaged or disengaged?
