Reading again of Paul's conversion reminded me that sometimes ... "God just does stuff" and doesn't need our help in doing it. Paul's conversion is like that. Were there Christians praying for Paul's conversion? We don't really know but I bet so. It is true that God used Stephen's stoning to begin the work of conversion in Paul. In other words, we are told that Paul held the garments of those that stoned Stephen. I have to believe that seeing Stephen die with such courage tormented Paul. Convicted him.

But in the end Paul's conversion is simply the work of God. I see signs of the same kind of thing among us. Just today a member of our church sent me her testimony. Her life was a mess ... so much so that her drug addiction had cost her everything ... family, friends, and even her child. But God intervened in her life thru Celebrate Recovery and our ministry at B'way. She has seen a complete turnaround of her life. She has a good job and new start with her family and she has Hope! God still does stuff!
