What Exactly is...The Church?

First: The true Christian should be part of the true Church.
Second: What is the definition of the word CHURCH as Jesus used it and as it was used in the New Testament?
Third: Since the early Christians met in house churches, why don't we do that and...does the church really have to have a building?
Fourth: Do we need to recapture certain forms of worship in order to be authentic...small group or large church...what about the atmospherics?
Fifth: The true Church preaches the true Gospel.

1. Have you valued the church in your life as God’s instrument on Earth? Are you "forgiving" of the church’s faults and imperfections?
2. What might Jesus or Paul say to those who are indifferent about regular church worship and attendance? What was their "custom?"
3. Why are small "house churches" typically independent and unattached? What might happen in such a setting to harm the sheep?
4. Why would God want His worship centers to look different from the world? How does the worship environment help or hinder worship? Do you think modern concepts of worship are in line with Scripture? Why or why not?
