This morning our reading came from Acts 17. I really like this chapter, mainly because we get to see Paul in Action. He gets chased out of 2 towns and then proceed to give one of the best explanations of Christianity to people that didn’t know God from a hole in the ground, or a block of wood, or a stack of rocks, or a statue of gold. It wasn’t really their fault, God has orchestrated all of it. Read it and you’ll get it.

The people in Athens didn’t know who they were talking to but they still talked. It wasn’t until Paul came along and told them to whom they were speaking, “The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands.” We’ve all got a certain sense of spirituality. I’m not going to go way out there, but it’s true. We all have bodies and souls and spirits so whether you realize it or not you are spiritual. That’s why people ‘pray’ when life gets tough, that’s why people are afraid of dying, that’s why people curse God when things suck. Paul found one thing in their culture that God could use to show them who God is. I think it’s pretty cool.

App! I want God to show me the things in people’s lives that they can understand who God is. Some people it might be pain, some it might be love, some it might be music, some it might be their kids, some it might be … well, what do you think? What have you seen God use to reach people that you thought unreachable?
