Observation
Who were these guys? The religious leaders were ticked off because Peter and John were doing good stuff but didn't have the right credentials. Religious people often mistake credentials for the real thing.

Application
I relate to Peter and John. Consider my credentials: average student in high school, flunked out of college because of drugs and alcohol, found Jesus at the bottom of a can of Budweiser, was baptized, studied and learned to listen to God's voice and do what he said. God turned my life around.

I worked, married, studied, listended, learned and served. After a 20 year appenticeship God, in his grace, gave me a new assignment - pastor. To this day I am amazed he would call someone like me to serve God and people in this way.

My credentials? Following Jesus, doing what he asks, falling down and starting over, again and again. My path isn't the path for everyone - you may hear his call to serve as a pastor - your path may include formal training, if it is then dig into it, embrace it and leverage it.

Prayer
Help me today Father hear and do what you want me to do. Help me do it in reliance on your presence rather than any special ability I bring to the table. And for those eager to follow you - inspire them to love and good deeds today.
