Day 2: You are amazing God

Hello!
Today is day 2 of my "read the Bible in a year" journey! When I woke up (about 30 minutes ago...) I turned the radio on, and switched the dial around, looking for a song that I hadn't heard for a while. Eventually I gave up and settled on the Christian radio station. The song that came on is one of my absolute favorites; it was "Indescribable" by Chris Tomlin. One of my favorite things about reading is when I find a passage with lots of imagery, so you can see how I like this song. The lyrics are...
From the highest of heights to the depths of the sea
Creation's revealing Your majesty
From the colors of fall to the fragrance of spring
Every creature unique in the song that it sings
All exclaiming
(chorus 1)
Indescribable, uncontainable,
You placed the stars in the sky and You know them by name.
You are amazing God
All powerful, untameable,
Awestruck we fall to our knees as we humbly proclaim
You are amazing God
Who has told every lightning bolt where it should go
Or seen heavenly storehouses laden with snow
Who imagined the sun and gives source to its light
Yet conceals it to bring us the coolness of night
None can fathom
(chorus 1)
(chorus 1)
Indescribable, uncontainable,
You placed the stars in the sky and You know them by name.
You are amazing God
Incomparable, unchangeable
You see the depths of my heart and You love me the same
You are amazing God
You are amazing God
Today I read Genesis 1 again, and because of the song, verses 16-18 stuck out to me.
"God made two great lights- the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars. God set them in the expanse of the sky to give light on the earth, to govern the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness. And God saw that it was good."
The whole concept of "You placed the stars in the sky and You know them by name" is mind boggling! It's hard to picture what the universe was before there even was a universe. It's hard to picture anything before God created it, because there was nothing but God. It's such and incredible thing to think about, and it's just, crazy! God is indescribable, uncontainable, incomparable, unchangeable, and a million other words that don't even scratch the surface of how awesome He is! I love Him.
Even though God is an incredible, amazing being, He loves us. He loves us when we do stupid things. He loves us when we lie to our parents, or party it up, or watch that movie we know we shouldn't, and thousands of other things. The song says, "You see the depths of my heart and You love me the same". And it's so true! He loves us no matter what we do. That's why this song is so important for me; it's a reminder that God will never, ever, stop loving you.
ps.
"How He Loves" by David Crowder is quite excellent also!
