How can God know?
"But as for me, my feet almost slipped.....For I envied the arrogant". The common desire of man is to know that there is an obvious reason to do what's right. We all want to see that we are getting ahead when we do something for God. However, more times than not; the results of what we do as believers cannot be seen. More often than not, it appears that the wicked or unrighteous is getting away with the proverbial murder.
For me, I can say that learning to keep my eyes on the eternal reward instead of the earthly one has not been a walk in the park. I remember being on the other side of this equation. It seemed easier to get ahead by cheating others and lying. But, I'm glad that God showed me that doing right and getting a reward has a sweeter taste, because anyone can do wrong.
