I Can't Do That

10 Moses said to the Lord, “O Lord, I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue.”
11 The Lord said to him, “Who gave man his mouth? Who makes him deaf or mute? Who gives him sight or makes him blind? Is it not I, the Lord?

12 Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.”

13 But Moses said, “O Lord, please send someone else to do it.”

I can relate to these verses. I lead a life group (Bible study) every week, and sometimes I feel so inadequate. I listen to other people speak and wish so badly that I could speak as eloquently as they do. How often do we receive a command from God and avoid it, knowing that God can use Anyone to do Anything. I have felt his nudge just in the past couple of days, saying "Megan, here's what I want you to do. . . " And, I have found myself saying, "Lord, thanks but no thanks. I can't do that. Can you find someone else?" God must laugh out loud when we tell him we can't do something. Of course we can't. But God can. He can do whatever He wants to do through you and through me.
