We've Reversed the Call
On the surface, it seems kind of weird that men would leave their trade and everything else behind to follow Jesus. But they had seen miracles. They knew Jesus was different. He had changed their lives. And he told them not to be afraid and to follow Him into the business of people-fishing.
We have lost our sense of the radical calling of Jesus. We have turned His call inside-out. Instead of leaving everything to follow Jesus, we just want to add Him to our collection. Instead of fishing for people, we build a little pond and wait for them to jump in. And we remain afraid. We need to get back to the call of Jesus! Leave everything, save men, fear not!
