What does it mean to be ALIVE to God?

...think of yourself as alive to God...

Observation
What does this mean? It seems I have been pursuing an answer to this question for a long time. Alive to God?

Application
I feel like I have had amnesia most of my life when it comes to spiritual things. When I met Jesus, it was as though the alarm clock went off and I began to wake up to spiritual things. I have been waking up for a long time. To me "waking up" is part of the anwer to "What does it mean to be alive to God?"

This waking up to the reality, the intimacy, the joy of being a child of God - it is like a long sunrise...a ;journey, a road trip with awesome people, hard work with a purpose, a long apprenticeship, a life of coming closer and going away, learning how to walk and talk and cooperate with the Great Lover.

What does it mean to be alive to God? a long sunrise.

Prayer
Father thank you for Jesus wake up call, the process of growing and waking up. As I learn to be alive to your real presence help me learn how to follow you, to be patient with my slow progress and the slow progress of others.
